I did indeed get my long run in Monday night-6miles, since I won't be able to make the meeting Saturday :( For some reason, this week's training has been TOUGH. I have been getting cramps and horrible shin splints....just out of nowhere! Never had this problem before. Can anyone explain??? What can I do to prevent?? Please advise.........

I am with you!!! I have not been able to do any running, just walking the past couple of times because my shins are KILLING me! And I stretch before and after. What's up?
Christy, it was great to meet you tonight at the post-race get-together. The same thing happens to me about the pain out of nowhere. I had big-time pain at the 5K today, but fortunately, it went away before the finish line. You must know Christa...I think she works in the ENT dept. at UMC also. My hat is off to you with working full-time, having 2 daughters, and keeping up with this training! Super woman!
